台湾TSMC 2029年から1.3ナノメートル級半導体量産へ

半導体の受託生産で世界最大手の台湾のTSMCは、回路の幅が1.3ナノメートル級の次世代半導体の量産を2029年から開始すると発表しました。

TSMCは23日、回路の幅が1.3ナノメートル級の次世代半導体について、2029年から量産を開始すると明らかにしました。

1.3ナノ級の半導体は、より小さな面積で消費電力の効率化や性能の向上を実現でき、AI＝人工知能などの分野で需要が見込まれるとしています。

TSMCは、去年台湾の工場で最先端の2ナノの半導体の量産を始めたほか、2028年には1.4ナノ級の量産を開始するとしています。

魏哲家CEOは「顧客にとって最も信頼できる技術パートナーとして、最適な方法を探し続ける」とコメントし、業界をリードしていく姿勢を示しました。

TSMCは、日本でもおととしから熊本県菊陽町で第1工場を本格稼働させていて、2028年には現在、工場の建設を進めている第2工場で3ナノの半導体の量産を始める予定です。
