コスプレも“マスク”？「コミコン」で見つけたクリエイティブなコスプレ16選
2年ぶりにリアル開催されたポップカルチャーの祭典「コミコン・インターナショナル（サンディエゴ・コミコン）」。例年のようにコスプレイヤーたちが集結したが、いつもとは違って感染対策のマスクが必須に。そんな会場で見つけた“クリエイティブ”なコスプレの数々を紹介しよう。

「コミコン」はコスプレなしでは成り立たない。
2022年の「コミコン・インターナショナル（サンディエゴ・コミコン、SDCC）」の会場となった「サンディエゴ・コンベンション・センター」ホールHのステージに登壇した顔ぶれやテーマとなったコミックと同じように、凝ったコスチュームに身を包むこと、あるいは凝ったコスチュームを着た人を見ることは、人々が参加する主な理由のひとつだろう。
今年のコミコンでは、コスプレの重要性がさらに高まったように感じられた。新型コロナウイルスのパンデミック（世界的大流行）による健康上の懸念から、会場での直接参加型のコミコンは2年にわたって開催されなかったのである。
そして今回のイベントが再びサンディエゴの街を埋め尽くしたとき、コスプレイヤーたちも戻ってきた。
しかし、これまでと同じではない点もある。コミコンがリアル開催になったからといって、このパンデミックが終わったわけではないのだ。
人々は新型コロナウイルスへの感染を防ぐために、マスクを着用するなどの予防措置をとらなければならない。コスプレイヤーたちはマスクを着用することには慣れているが、感染症の蔓延を防ぐために必要なマスクはスパイダーマンが着用するようなマスクとは異なるのだ。
そこで当然のことながら、コスプレイヤーたちはクリエイティブになった。
『WIRED』は写真家のダニエル・ゴンサルヴェスにコミコンに参加してもらい、最もクリエイティブなマスクをつけたコスプレイヤーを会場で探してもらった。どのコスプレも素晴らしいものだったが、なかにはマスクなしのものも少数ながら見受けられる。
