今回の豪雨で多くの住宅が浸水の被害を受けた千葉市では、災害廃棄物の仮置き場を設けていますが、お年寄りなど1人で運び込むことが難しい人のために、市は各家庭をまわり、戸別に回収する取り組みを始めました。
初日の24日、千葉市若葉区では市から委託を受けた業者が事前に申し込んでいた家庭を訪ね、大型の家具や畳のほか、ほかの家から流れてきたという園芸用品などをトラックで回収していました。
市に回収を頼んだ50歳の男性は「1人暮らしの母がごみの収集場所まで持っていけないので依頼しました。においも出てきたので回収に来てもらって助かりました」と話していました。
