アマゾン、名古屋に大型新物流拠点 8月稼働
Amazonと三菱地所は、愛知県名古屋市にAmazonの物流拠点(フルフィルメントセンター:FC)を今夏新設する。三菱地所の施設「ロジクロス名古屋みなと」をAmazon専用に設計し、延床面積は約125,000m2、商品保管容量は約137万フィート3(約42万m3)で、西日本で最大のFCとしている。8月に稼働開始する予定。

同拠点では、カーボンフリーエネルギーの活用に注力し、地中熱ヒートポンプを活用した空調システムを導入。国内の地中熱利用では最大規模となる200本の地中熱交換器を、地下100mの深さに設置して、熱交換を行なう。地下100mの地中温度は約15℃前後で、これを1階部分の冷暖房に活用。従来の空調と比べてエネルギー消費量を約30%削減する。
また、建屋と駐車・駐輪場の屋根部分に太陽光発電設備を設置し、Amazonとして世界で初めて建屋の壁面(南側)にも太陽光発電設備を導入。合計発電設備容量は5.5メガワット(MW)となり、国内の物流施設に設置されているオンサイト型の太陽光発電としては最大級。Amazonのオンサイト型の太陽光発電としては米国外で最大の発電設備容量となる。蓄電容量2.9メガワット時(MWh)の蓄電池も併設し、雨天・曇天時や夜間でもカーボンフリーエネルギーを活用する。
