19日午前8時ごろ、横浜市金沢区の八景島近くの海で、「男性が海に落ちた」と近くにいた人から119番通報がありました。
海上保安部と消防が周辺を捜索したところ、およそ2時間半後に現場近くで男性が意識のない状態で見つかり病院に運ばれましたが、その後、死亡が確認されました。
大学生は知人たちと一緒にボードの上に立ってパドルをこぎながら水面を進む「SUP」をしていたところ、海に転落して流されたということです。
海上保安部などが当時の状況を詳しく調べるとともに、海で遊ぶ際にはライフジャケットを身につけるなど安全に注意するよう呼びかけています。
