新型メルセデス・ベンツ「GLC220d 4マティック クーペ」に追加された、「コア」はコストパフォーマンスの高い1台だった！ 『GQ JAPAN』ライフスタイルエディターの、イナガキがリポートする。

今年3月、メルセデス・ベンツの「GLC/GLCクーペ」にエントリーモデルの「コア」が追加された。
コアは、「SUVとしてのコアバリューはそのままに、標準装備を厳選し戦略的価格を実現した」と、謳う。
標準装備のエクステリアはベースのGLC220d/GLC220dクーペと同じ外観で、ボディカラーは定番色として人気の高いポーラーホワイト（ソリッド）、オブシディアンブラック（メタリック）、ハイテックシルバー（メタリック）の3色に厳選。よりスポーティーな外観となるAMGラインパッケージも選択可能だ。
インテリアは、メンテナンスが容易で、本革のようなクオリティが楽しめる人工皮革「レザーARTICO」を設定。カラーは標準仕様のブラックに加え、AMGラインパッケージにはネバグレー/ブラックも選べる。
インテリアトリムは、標準仕様にシルバーグレーダイヤモンドインテリアトリムを、AMGラインパッケージではメタルウィーブインテリアトリムをそれぞれGLCとして初採用した。
選択可能な有償オプションは、AMGラインパッケージとパノラミックスライディングルーフのふたつ。シンプルな選択肢とすることで、価格を抑えたという。
搭載するエンジンは、単体で197ps（145kW）、440Nmを発生する、2.0リッターのクリーンディーゼル直列4気筒ターボ「OM654M」。エンジンとトランスミッションの間に配置されるISGによって、短時間、最大で23ps（17kW）、205Nmのブーストが可能で、高トルク、省燃費が売りのクリーンディーゼルエンジンに、電気による緻密なサポートが組み合わさることで、さらにスムーズな加速感と、燃費の低減に寄与する。
価格は、GLC220d 4マティック コアが¥8,190,000、GLC220d 4マティック クーペコアが¥8,660,000。それぞれの標準モデルが¥8,760,000、¥9,160,000だから約¥500,000安価だ。
