新iPad mini登場 AI強化で78800円から
アップルは15日、「Apple Intelligenceのために設計された」という新「iPad mini」を発表した。15日から予約を開始し、10月23日から発売する。価格はWi-Fiモデル(128GB)が78,800円から、Wi-Fi+Cellularモデルが104,800円から。ストレージは128GB/256GB/512GBで、カラーは、ブルー、パープル、スターライト、スペースグレイの4色展開。

8.3型/2,266×1,488ドットのLiquid Retinaディスプレイと、A17 Proチップを搭載した新iPad mini。日本で2025年対応予定のAI機能「Apple Intelligence」に対応するため、CPUとGPUを強化したほか、従来のiPad miniより2倍高速なNeural Engineを搭載している。また、Apple Pencil Proに対応する。
バックカメラは12メガピクセル。広いダイナミックレンジで自然な写真を撮影できるほか、機械学習を活用し、カメラアプリ内で直接書類を検出してスキャンできるという。
Apple Intelligenceの初期機能は、10月に提供予定の「iPadOS 18.1」で米国英語で提供され、A17 ProもしくはM1以降を搭載したiPadで利用可能になる。Apple Intelligenceによる「作文ツール」では、メール、メモ、Pages、他社製アプリなど、ほとんどすべての文章を書く場面で、書き直し、校正、要約を通じて、言葉づかいに磨きをかけられるという。
Apple Pencilのツールパレットの新しいツールで、ラフスケッチを画像に作り変えられる「画像マジックワンド」、オリジナルの「ジェン文字」に対応するほか、SiriもApple Intelligenceにより強化される。また、iPadOS 18内の体験にChatGPTを統合する。
Wi-Fi 6Eに対応するほか、セルラーモデルも搭載。USB Type-Cポートは前世代より最大2倍高速となり、最大10Gbpsのデータ転送を実現する。重量は293g(Wi-Fi)/297g(Wi-Fi+Cellular)。
