航空燃料「SAF」普及へ 都が使用済み油の回収キャンペーン
家庭の食用油などを原料として、二酸化炭素の排出を大幅に削減する航空燃料、「SAF」の普及を進めようと東京都は、都内各地で使用済みの油を回収するキャンペーンを始めました。
「SAF」は家庭の食用油などを原料とした循環型の航空燃料で、従来のジェット燃料と比べて二酸化炭素の排出量を大幅に削減できることから、航空業界の気候変動対策として注目されています。
東京都は、環境に優しいSAFの普及を進めようと家庭から出た使用済みの油を回収するキャンペーンを始めました。
回収の対象となるのはサラダ油など植物性の油でペットボトルなどの蓋の閉まる容器に入れて回収所に持ち込みます。
都によりますと回収された油は、大阪にあるSAFの製造所で精製され羽田空港や関西空港など国内の主要な空港で航空機の燃料として使用されるということです。
キャンペーンは来月末まで行われ、期間中は都庁第一庁舎や一部の区市町村の庁舎、公民館などおよそ80か所で行われます。
都資源循環推進部は、「家庭から出る油が飛行機の燃料となることを知ってもらうとともに環境のためにもぜひ回収に協力いただきたい」と話しています。
