アンソロピック、「違法な報復」と米国政府を提訴
Anthropicは9日(米国時間)、国防総省(Department of War)から書簡を米国の国家安全保障に対する「サプライチェーンリスク」に指定された事について、「違法な報復」としてトランプ政権を提訴した。
Anthropicでは、「Claude」に代表されるAIサービスを国防総省や国家安全保障機関に提供し、情報分析や作戦計画などに活用されてきた。しかし、用途の拡大を求める国防総省に対し、Anthropicが制限の解除に慎重な姿勢を見せ、特に「国内における大規模監視」「完全自律型兵器」を不安視する声明を発表。国防総省はAnthropicが安全対策を維持する場合は、Anthropicを国家の敵対者とみなす「サプライチェーンリスク」指定すると予告した。その後、Anthropicが譲歩を拒否し、サプライチェーンリスクに指定されることとなった。
こうした経緯について、違法な報復であるとAnthropicは訴えている。
国防総省は、Anthropicが求める条件に合意していたにも関わらず、トランプ大統領が全連邦機関に対し「直ちにAnthropic技術の全使用を中止せよ」と指示した数時間後にAnthropicを「国家安全保障に対するサプライチェーンリスク」とするよう国防長官が命じたという。
Anthropicは、「これらの措置は前例がなく違法。憲法は、政府が保護された言論を理由に企業を罰するためにその巨大な権力を行使することを認めていない」と訴状に記している。
