迷子の少年が“線路の上に”、遊園地が一時騒然「下を見ちゃダメ！」「歩き続けて」→動画が拡散
米ペンシルベニア州にある遊園地「ハーシーパーク」で8月30日、モノレールの線路を歩いていた少年が救出された。発表によると、少年は両親とはぐれて迷子になっていたという。一部始終を捉えた動画が、SNSに複数投稿されている。

動画には、線路を行ったり来たりする少年が映っている。NBC Newsによると、線路は地上から6メートル以上の高さがあったという。
高架下にいた来場者からは「（屋根があるとこまで）そのまま歩き続けろ」と言った指示が飛び交う。
少年は時折、線路下を見る素振りを見せており、その度に来場者からは「（下を見ては）ダメだ」と言った叫び声が上がった。
現場にいた来園者の男性が、土産店の屋根を伝って線路まで上がり、「こっちだ」と少年を誘導。少年は無事に保護され、現場からは歓声が上がった。
ハーシーパークは「少年にけがはなく、午後5時半ごろに家族と再会した」と発表した。
Fox Newsによると事故当時、モノレールは運行しておらず、改札口はバリケードで封鎖されていたという。来場者の立ち入りを防ぐためだ。
地元メディアに対し、救助にあたったジョン・ソンプソンさんは「私にも子どもがいます。とっさに父性本能が働いたのだと思います」と、当時の心境を語った。
「できるだけ早く線路に辿り着こう、それだけを考えていました」
無事に少年を保護したときは「安心しました」と語る。
「私が少年を抱えると、彼も安心しているのを感じました。パニックにならず、私の方に歩いてくれてよかったです」
