Startale Groupは、ソニーグループが開発するブロックチェーン「Soneium」(ソニューム)上の資産を日常の決済に利用できるというVisaカード「Startale Card」を発表した。Startale App上で同カードの先行登録受付を開始している。 Startale Cardは、オンチェーン資産と日常決済をつなぐと謳うグローバルなVisaカード。Ethereumを基盤とするレイヤー2ブロックチェーン「Soneium」(ソニューム)上の資産を“日常の支払いにつなげていくことを目指す”としている。提供地域や提供開始時期、対象機能、利用条件などは、各国・地域の関連法令やその他の条件に基づいて順次決定される予定。 Startale Appは、Soneiumエコシステムでのオンチェーン体験の入口として、資産管理や取引、Mini App、リワードなどの機能を一つのアプリ上で提供。Startale Cardは、こうしたオンチェーン体験を「日常生活における決済へと広げていくための新たな取り組み」という位置付け。これまで一般的に、オンチェーン上の資産を日常の支払いに活用するためには、別のサービスへの資産移動や、支払いに利用可能な資産への交換など、複数の手順が必要となるケースが多かった。Startale Cardは、オンチェーン資産の保有、活用、決済を“よりなめらかにつなぐ”ことで、デジタル資産を「使う」体験に広げていくとしている。
