広島 こどもの日恒例「泣き相撲」 元気な泣き声 神社の境内に
こどもの日の5月5日、広島市の神社で、赤ちゃんが向かい合って座り、どちらが先に泣き出すかを競う、恒例の「泣き相撲」が行われ、赤ちゃんの元気な泣き声が境内に響き渡りました。
広島市中区の広島護国神社では、赤ちゃんの健やかな成長を願って、毎年こどもの日に「泣き相撲」を行っていて、ことしは生後6か月から1歳半までのおよそ700人の赤ちゃんが参加しました。
赤のねじり鉢巻きをして、はっぴに身を包んだ赤ちゃんは、お父さんやお母さんに抱きかかえられて土俵に上がり、対戦相手の赤ちゃんと向かい合って座って、行司の合図とともに、どちらが先に泣き出すか競います。
土俵に上がった赤ちゃんは、行司の「はっけよい、のこった」という大きな掛け声に驚き、すぐに顔を真っ赤にして泣き出していました。
中には、取組が始まる前から泣き出す赤ちゃんがいる一方、最後まで2人とも泣かずに引き分けとなる赤ちゃんもいて、会場から笑いが起こっていました。
府中町から1歳4か月の息子と参加した母親は、「泣かないかなと思っていたら、早々に泣いてくれました。元気に大きく育ってくれたらなと思います」と話していました。
