“武蔵と小次郎 決闘の地” 巌流島で本州と九州の人たちが交流
江戸時代の剣豪・宮本武蔵と佐々木小次郎の決闘の地として知られる山口県下関市の巌流島で、本州と九州の人たちが交流する催しが開かれました。
この催しは本州と九州を隔てる関門海峡にある巌流島で、下関と北九州の人たちが30年以上前から毎年この時期に開いてきたもので、ことしはコロナ禍による中止を経て5年ぶりに開催されました。
催しでは、巌流島での対決にちなんで特設のプロレスリングを舞台にさまざまなイベント開かれ、ダンスバトルでは、小・中学生や高校生など6つのチームが軽快なヒップホップの音楽にあわせて日頃練習してきたダンスを披露しました。
また、本州と九州の人たちがおよそ120メートルの綱を引き合う「関門大綱引き」が行われ、参加した人たちは「わっしょい、わっしょい」と元気な声を上げながら綱を引いていました。
このほか、400年余り前の武蔵と小次郎の決闘を再現した寸劇も披露され、訪れた人たちは、抜けるような青空のもと、大型連休後半の春の一日を楽しんでいました。
大分県から来た40代の男性は「久しぶりの開催で行くしかないという思いで来ました。晴れ渡った青空のもとで飲むお酒もおいしく最高です」と話していました。
