内閣府、「国家サイバー統括室(NCO)」発足
内閣府は7月1日、内閣官房に国全体のサイバーセキュリティ対策を統括する「国家サイバー統括室(NCO：National Cybersecurity Office)」を設置した。従来の内閣サイバーセキュリティセンター(NISC)を改組したもので、サイバーセキュリティ確保に関する総合調整と施策推進の機能を強化する。

近年、高度なサイバー攻撃が相次いでおり、情報窃取や重要インフラへの侵入など、安全保障上の懸念が高まっている。こうした情勢を踏まえ、政府は2022年に策定した「国家安全保障戦略」において、サイバー分野の体制見直しを方針として掲げた。
2025年5月には、「サイバー対処能力強化法」が成立し、法制度面の整備が進められていた。今回の統括室の設置は、これらの動きを具体化するものであり、日本のサイバーセキュリティ対処能力を、欧米主要国と同等以上に引き上げることを目的とする。
国家サイバー統括室は、サイバーセキュリティ戦略本部の事務局としての役割を果たすほか、行政各部の情報システムに対する不正な活動の監視・分析やサイバーセキュリティの確保に関し必要な助言、情報の提供その他の援助、監査などを行なう。
