ソフトバンク、iPhoneでRCSに対応

ソフトバンクは25日から、iPhoneのメッセージサービスで「RCS」に対応開始した。18日から対応開始したAndroidに続き、iPhoneでもRCSをサポートした。 「ソフトバンク」「ワイモバイル」「LINEMO」の3ブランドにおいて、RCS(Rich Communication Services)に対応した。RCSは、従来のSMSのような携帯電話番号宛てのテキストや絵文字の送受信に加え、写真や動画、スタンプなどの送受信、グループチャット、既読確認などの便利な機能も利用できるのが特徴。SMSやMMSの後継と位置付けられる規格として、GSMAで世界的に標準化された。 Androidでは「Google メッセージ」アプリ、iOSでは「メッセージ」アプリでRCSを利用可能となる。 日本国内ではKDDIが25年春からRCSに対応しており、ドコモも3月12日以降に発売開始するAndroidスマートフォンから標準のメッセージアプリをRCS対応の「Google メッセージ」としている。
