米国AIデータセンターに5兆円投資　ソフトバンクGら「ポーツマスコンソーシアム」

3月20日(米国時間)、ソフトバンクグループなど、日米のサプライヤーや金融機関などを中心とした21社が、日米政府の戦略的投資イニシアティブ対象となる米国エネルギー省のポーツマスサイトの大規模発電所やAIインフラ建設を目的とした「ポーツマスコンソーシアム」を発足した。 同コンソーシアムは、2月17日に米国政府が発表した世界最大のガス火力プロジェクト「9.2GW ポーツマスパワードランドプロジェクト」へ日米企業が参画するもの。 ソフトバンクやAEPオハイオが推進し、ソフトバンクグループ傘下のSBエナジーが、10GWの新規発電設備を新設。うち9.2GWは天然ガス発電となる見込みで、ポーツマス・サイトにおける新規10GWデータセンター開発に電力を供給する。投資規模は330億ドル(約5兆2,500億円)となる。 ソフトバンクグループの孫正義会長は、ひとつの拠点に対する投資として最大規模になることを強調し、「我々のスーパーインテリジェンスの中核となる。歴史的な一日」と語った。 ソフトバンクグループのほか、日本からは住友電気工業、TDK、東芝、パナソニック ホールディングス、日立製作所、フジクラ、みずほ銀行、三井住友銀行、三菱電機、三菱UFJ銀行、村田製作所が参画。米国からは、Bechtel Global、Carrier Global、Citi、GE Vernova、Goldman Sachs、J.P.
