土俵上の泣き笑いにみんな笑顔 岩手 花巻で伝統の「泣き相撲」
赤ちゃんが土俵の上でにらめっこの勝負をする伝統行事「泣き相撲」が岩手県花巻市の神社で行われました。
「泣き相撲」は花巻市東和町の三熊野神社にに江戸時代から伝わる伝統行事で、赤ちゃんの健やかな成長を願って毎年春と秋に開催されます。
4日は地元のほか、宮城県や千葉県から訪れた、生後半年から1歳半までの赤ちゃんおよそ300人が参加しました。
赤ちゃんは、オレンジ色のはっぴに豆絞り姿で親方と呼ばれるかみしも姿の男性に抱かれて東西に分かれて土俵に上がり、「よぅ、よぅ」というかけ声にあわせて、お互いに顔を近づけてにらめっこをしました。
先に泣いたほうが負けですが、なかには土俵に上がる前から泣き出す赤ちゃんや、笑いだす赤ちゃんもいてかわいらしい様子に会場は大きな歓声と笑顔に包まれていました。
千葉県から参加した母親は、「私自身も第2回のときに参加して親子で出ることができました。元気いっぱい泣いてくれてよかったです」と話していました。
泣き相撲は、5日も行われます。
