岐阜県山県市の寺で合わせて11体の仏像がなくなっているのが見つかり、警察が窃盗事件として捜査しています。

4日午前7時すぎ、住職が寺から仏像がなくなっていることに気付き警察に通報しました。

警察によりますと、寺の本堂の中にあった地蔵菩薩像など、合わせて11体のいずれも高さが15センチから25センチほどの木製の仏像がなくなっていたということです。

洞泉寺の住職によりますと、ふだんは住職が50メートルほど離れた自宅から寺を訪れ、供え物などをしているほか、夜間は本堂の入り口に鍵をかけていて、先月28日に確認した際は、仏像はあったということです。

住職は「人が悪いことをしないように見守っている地蔵菩薩さまが、目の前で悪いことをしている人を見ている状態だと思う。今は早く返してほしいという思いだけです」と話しています。
