伝統行事「一生もち」 一升の餅を背負った子ども 懸命に歩く
「こどもの日」の5月5日、盛岡市の神社では、子どもの健やかな成長を願って、一升の餅を背負って歩かせる、伝統の行事「一生もち」が行われました。
「一生もち」は、初めての誕生日を迎える子どもに一升の丸い餅を背負って歩かせる伝統行事で、「一生食べ物に困りませんように」や「一生円満に生きられますように」といった願いが込められています。
盛岡市の盛岡八幡宮の境内に設けられた舞台では、県内外から参加した1歳前後の子どもたちが、一升、およそ2キロの餅を背負い、2メートルほど離れたところにいる家族のもとへ歩きました。
なかにはバランスを崩して尻餅をついたり、ふだんと違う雰囲気に泣き出したりする子どももいましたが、家族のもとに懸命に向かう様子に、会場からはあたたかい声援や拍手が送られていました。
1歳4か月の娘と参加した母親は「頑張って歩いてくれた姿に成長を感じました。元気に常に笑って過ごしてくれたらと思います」と話していました。
1歳4か月の息子と参加した母親は「ふだんと変わらない様子で歩いてくれたので、度胸があるなと感じました。のびのびと元気に育ってもらいたいです」と話していました。
