3000万円超の新型ポルシェ タイカンが痛快過ぎた！ 0-100km/h 2.2秒の過激なドイツ製スポーツカーに迫る
マイナーチェンジを受けたポルシェのピュアEV（電気自動車）「タイカン」に、大谷達也が試乗した。印象はいかに？

新型タイカンのキャッチコピーは「Higher, faster, further（より高く、より速く、より遠くへ）」だ。
“より高く”とは動力性能のことで、新旧のタイカン・ターボSで比較すると、0～100km/h加速は2.8秒から2.4秒へとコンマ4秒も速くなった。そもそも0～100km/h加速で3秒を切るのはスーパースポーツカーでも至難の技なのに、すでに2秒台に突入しているなかでさらに0～100km/hタイムを0.4秒も削り取るのは並大抵のことではなかったはず。ちなみに、これを実現するために最高出力は761psから952psへと引き上げられている。
“より速く”には動力性能の向上も含まれているが、それとともに充電スピードの高速化を意味している。理想的な条件でバッテリーの充電量を10％から80％まで充電するのに必要な時間は、現行型の21分30秒から18分まで縮まっている。また、ポルシェは「10分間の充電で走行できる距離」の一例として、現行型タイカンが225kmだったのに対して新型は315kmも走れると説明している。
もっとも、これはヨーロッパの超高速充電器を使用した場合の話で、充電容量は現行型の最高270kWから最高320kWに引き上げられている。現在の日本のように最高でも150kW、現実的に多く設置されている高速充電器の多くは50～90kWという状況では、新型タイカンの優れた充電性能も“宝の持ち腐れ”といえなくもない。
“より遠く”は、いうまでも航続距離が伸びたことを意味する。ちなみに新旧ターボSを比較すると、467kmから630kmへと大幅に伸びていることがわかる。上記の充電スピードと異なり、こちらは日本のユーザーも確実に享受できるメリットといえる。
航続距離が伸びたのは、バッテリー容量が93.4kWhから105kWhに増えたことも効いているが、それだけでなく、ドライブトレインの効率向上やソフトウェアの見直し、回生ブレーキの強化、空気抵抗や転がり抵抗の低減など、さまざまな改良を重ねたことによって実現したものという。
新型タイカンにはベースモデルで後輪駆動のタイカンを始め、タイカン4S、タイカン・ターボ、タイカン・ターボSなどのラインナップを現行型から引き継いでいるが、注目されるのはターボGTという名のハイパフォーマンスグレードが追加されたことにある。すでにカイエンにも同様のグレードは存在するが、911でいえばGT3に相当するスポーツ性能を誇る。それゆえ、今回の試乗会では一般公道にくわえてスペイン・セヴィリア地方にあるモンテブロンコ・サーキットでの試乗も用意されていた。
さらに驚くべきは、このターボGTのパフォーマンスをさらに強化したターボGTウィズ・ヴァイザッハ・パッケージ（以下、ヴァイザッハ・パッケージと表記）というモデルが設定されたことにある。これは、ターボGTが911のGT3だとすれば、GT3 RSに相当するモデルで、リヤに巨大なウィングを装着したほか、後席を取り除くなどして軽量化をはかったことがターボGTとの最大の違い。ちなみに、ポルシェはこのヴァイザッハ・パッケージでニュルブルクリンクのタイムアタックを敢行。見事に7分7秒55の“量産EV最速タイム”を記録したという。
なお、ボディバリエーションとしては、私が試乗したクーペのほかにも従来どおりスポーツツーリスモ、クロスツーリスモの2タイプが用意されているので、幅広いニーズに対応できそうだ。
