大阪府、にぎわい施設を備えた船着場「中之島GATEサウスピア」4月オープン
大阪府は、海と川の結節点である安治川左岸(大阪市西区川口)にて、海船と川舟との乗換ターミナルとなる公共船着場やにぎわい施設を備えた「中之島GATEサウスピア」を4月6日にオープンする。

公募で選定した民間事業者biidとともに進めてきた事業。大阪・関西万博の会場である夢洲などのベイエリアと、大阪市内の「水の回廊」沿いにある中之島や道頓堀などの観光名所を船で結び、水都大阪のさらなる魅力向上と発信を目指す。
施設はレストラン、券売所、待合所、歴史資料コーナー(川口居留地ジオラマを展示)、多目的広場、プレジャーボート係留施設(5月以降オープン予定)を備える。
中之島GATEサウスピア周辺は、大阪の近代化に重要な役割を果たしたエリアであることから、施設の入口に「大阪開港の地」や「川口運上所跡」などを示す石碑等を設置。歴史資料コーナーの川口居留地ジオラマは、外国人居留地があった当時の様子を表している。これらにより歴史的価値の保存・発信に取り組む。
所在地は大阪市西区川口2丁目54番1地先。面積は約7,900m2(河川区域の陸地部分)。
舟運事業者等に対する公共船着場の使用受付を1月22日より開始しており、中之島GATEサウスピアのホームページから申し込める。
