EU＝ヨーロッパ連合は、中国のネット通販大手「アリババグループ」傘下でヨーロッパなどで事業を展開する企業に対し、違法な商品が流通することへの対策を怠ったとして日本円で1000億円余りの制裁金を科しました。

EUの執行機関、ヨーロッパ委員会は20日、「アリババグループ」傘下でネット通販事業を展開する「アリエクスプレス」に対し、違法な商品への対策を義務づけたEUのデジタルサービス法に違反したとして、5億5000万ユーロ、日本円で1000億円余りの制裁金を科したと発表しました。

EUはおととし3月以降、調査を進めた結果、「アリエクスプレス」は、違法な商品が流通するリスクを評価する義務を果たしておらず、消費者に対して多くの違法な商品を勧めたり広告したりしていたとしています。

また、安全でないおもちゃと化粧品、それに偽造品を検知するシステムが適切に機能せず流通させたと指摘しています。

EUは「アリエクスプレス」に対して今後、3か月以内に改善計画を提出するよう求めています。

「アリエクスプレス」の担当者はNHKの取材に対して、「今回の決定および過剰な制裁金には同意できない。われわれが積極的に行ってきた改善策を無視したものだ。決定に対して不服を申し立てる」とコメントしています。
