繊維産業PRへ“きもの議会” 議員も市職員も着物で 群馬 桐生
群馬県桐生市で古くから盛んな繊維産業の魅力を発信しようと、市議会議員や市の職員が着物を着用して出席する「きもの議会」が21日、開かれました。
「きもの議会」は、桐生市伝統の繊維産業を支援する条例が平成30年に施行されたことをきっかけに毎年開かれています。
21日は、市議会議員21人と、荒木恵司市長や市の幹部職員など15人ほどが地元で生産された着物などを身につけ、議会に臨みました。
議会では、新年度の施政方針や予算案の提案理由が説明され、最後は出席者全員で記念撮影を行いました。
父親の形見の着物を着て臨んだ市議会の人見武男議長は「傍聴に来た市民の多くが着物を着用していて、とてもうれしかった。今後も繊維産業の要望などを市側に伝えていきたい」と話していました。
また、桐生織の着物を着用した市産業経済部の新井八寿代部長は「市民が着物を着る機会を今後も積極的につくっていきたい」と話していました。
桐生市では新年度予算案に繊維産業を活性化しブランド力を高めるための事業も盛り込んでいて、引き続き伝統産業の振興を図っていきたいとしています。
