NTTドコモ、KDDI・沖縄セルラー電話、ソフトバンク、楽天モバイルは、7月以降に順次開始予定としていた060番号の開始時期を延期すると発表した。 060番号とは、携帯電話事業者が新たに使用できるようになる「060」から始まる電話番号。現在の070/080/090からはじまる電話番号の枯渇に対応するための施策で、「2026年7月以降に順次開始」とアナウンスされていたが、延期されることになった。総務省は、キャリア各社の延期の公表を受けて、060番号を案内するWebページにて「新たな需要が見込まれる令和8年度末までに電気通信事業者において必要な対応がとられ、060番号を用いたサービスの円滑な提供が順次開始されるよう、促しています」と説明している。
