山口 柳井 祭り前に金魚のちょうちんの製作が最盛期
山口県柳井市の夏の風物詩、「柳井金魚ちょうちん祭り」で街頭を彩る金魚のちょうちんの製作が、最盛期を迎えています。
「柳井金魚ちょうちん祭り」はお盆の時期に行われる柳井市の夏の風物詩で、祭りが近づくと、江戸時代から建ち並ぶ白壁の家屋の軒先などに金魚のちょうちんが飾られます。
祭りを前にちょうちん作りが最盛期を迎え、このうち地元のシルバー人材センターでは、全長およそ60センチの金魚のちょうちんを500個製作しています。
4本の竹ひごを組み合わせた骨組みに和紙を貼り付けて金魚の形を整えたうえで、赤く塗ったり模様を入れたりして、鮮やかな金魚のちょうちんを完成させていました。
本井秀夫さんは「かわいいとかきれいと言ってもらえる金魚ちょうちんを見てほしい」と話していました。
金魚のちょうちんは、8月13日に行われる「柳井金魚ちょうちん祭り」を彩ります。
