環境省は、新宿御苑において、入園ゲートにクレジットカードのタッチ決済端末を設置し、“クレカチケットレス入園”の実証実験を行なう。開始は8月12日からで、期間は2026年度中を予定する。新宿御苑は25年度に来園者数が300万人を突破。23年度から毎年過去最多を更新しており、その約半数がインバウンドと推計されている。こうしたことを背景に、スムーズな入園や外国人対応負荷の軽減などを目的として、各入園ゲートにクレジットカードなどのタッチ決済に対応した端末を設置し、“クレカチケットレス入園”を実現する。三井住友カードの公共交通機関向けソリューション「stera transit」の本格導入を見据えた実証実験で、実証実験では来園者の分析などについても検討を進めていく。なお新宿御苑の入園ゲートは、すでに交通系ICカードによるタッチ入園が可能になっている。クレカチケットレス入園の対応は8月12日9時から。新宿門、大木戸門、千駄ヶ谷門の各門でゲート1のみが対応する。利用可能決済ブランドはVisaのみ。料金は500円(一般)のみ。実証実験の結果により、決済ブランドの拡大や、学生(高校生以上)・65歳以上(250円)への適応拡大なども検討していく。
