福岡 福津 大雨被害の農家を中高生が復旧支援
8月の記録的な大雨で土砂が流れ込むなどの被害があった福岡県福津市の農家を福岡市の中学生と高校生が訪れ、農地の石を取り除く作業などを行いました。
8月9日以降の記録的な大雨で、福津市では住宅や農地で浸水や土砂が流れ込むなどの被害が相次ぎ、今も復旧作業が続いています。
こうした中、31日は福岡市の福岡舞鶴高校と福岡舞鶴誠和中学校の生徒およそ150人がボランティア団体のメンバーとともに福津市内のキャベツ農家を訪ねました。
生徒たちは、土砂が流れ込んだおよそ3000平方メートルの農地に1列に並んで、土に埋まった細かい石を手作業で拾い上げていました。
またラグビー部や剣道部などの男子生徒は、土砂崩れが起きた場所の補修に使う土のう作りに取り組み、次々と土を入れ込んで2時間半で1500個ほどを完成させました。
参加した高校1年の男子生徒は「ボランティアの募集を知って部活を休んで参加しました。これだけ被害があると困っていると思うのでしっかり支援したいです」と話していました。
また支援を受けた農家の※クワ野由美さんは、「みるみるうちに石がなくなって本当に感謝しています。今回の被害で一時は、農家をやめようかと思いましたが、元気なうちはまだまだ続けようという気持ちになっています」と話していました。

鹿児島 南さつま ボランティアセンターを開設 復旧加速へ
一方、8月21日に台風12号が上陸し、広い範囲で被害が出た鹿児島県の南さつま市では、ボランティアが浸水した住宅の泥のかき出しなどを行っています。
8月21日に鹿児島県に上陸した台風12号により、南さつま市では市内を流れる加世田川で護岸が決壊するなどし、100棟以上の住宅の浸水被害が確認されています。
こうした中、南さつま市は復旧を加速させるため、8月25日にボランティアセンターを開設し、この土日が初めての週末となりました。
31日は朝から、多くのボランティアが受け付けに訪れ、浸水などの被害を受けた住宅で泥のかき出しなどの作業を行いました。
このうち、立山照雄さんの自宅は床上まで水につかり、1階部分の家具や家電が使えなくなりました。
ボランティアは汗をぬぐいながら、家の中に入り込んだ土砂をかき出して運んだり、泥をほうきではらったりしていました。
地元からボランティアに参加した40代の自営業の男性は「いてもたってもいられず参加しました。一刻も早く元の生活に戻れるようにと思っています」と話していました。
ボランティアに手伝ってもらった立山さんは「どこから手をつけていいかと思っていたので、本当に助かっていて、ありがたいです」と話していました。
