沖縄 那覇 生まれ変わった首里城正殿 一部が見えるように
来年、秋の完成に向けて進められている那覇市の首里城正殿の再建工事で、正殿を覆っていた「素屋根」を解体する工事が進み、生まれ変わった正殿の一部が覆いのない状態で見えるようになりました。
6年前の火災で焼失した首里城正殿の再建工事は、雨や風から守る仮設の覆い「素屋根」の中で進められてきましたが、今月中旬から側面部分の鉄骨などの解体が始まり、これまでに屋根部分や北側の側面の壁がほぼ取り払われました。
その結果、特徴的な弁柄色で塗られた外壁や大きな龍の焼き物「龍頭棟飾」などが観光客が多く通る場所からも見えるようになりました。
佐賀県から訪れた40代の男性は「再建する途中を見られるのは貴重な体験だと思いました。再建されたらまた来ようと思います」と話していました。
新潟県から訪れた60代の女性は「ここまで再建してすごいなと思いました。早くきちんと前のように復元してほしいです」と話していました。
素屋根の解体は来月末をめどに終わりその後は、正殿につながる2つの廊下の再建工事が始まる予定です。
