ノロウイルス 新たな変異ウイルスが国内外で拡大 研究グループ

感染性胃腸炎の原因となるノロウイルスについて、日本の研究グループが世界各地で採取されたウイルスの遺伝子を分析したところ、国内外で新たな変異ウイルスが広がっていることがわかりました。感染性胃腸炎はここ数年、流行期が長引くなど例年とは異なる流行パターンが見られていて、研究グループは「背景に変異ウイルスの広がりがあるのではないか」と指摘しています。

国立健康危機管理研究機構などの研究グループは、感染性胃腸炎の主な原因となるノロウイルスについて、日本を含めた世界各地で採取されたおよそ450のサンプルの遺伝情報を分析しました。

その結果、「GII.17」と呼ばれるタイプのウイルスの新たな変異ウイルスが近年、海外や日本で検出され、拡大しているとみられることがわかりました。

遺伝情報の詳しい分析によりますとこの変異ウイルスは数年前に出現したとみられていて従来のウイルスに対する免疫は効果が低い可能性があるということです。

感染性胃腸炎は、例年、冬に流行のピークがありますがここ数年、流行が長引いたり、ピークがずれたりと異なるパターンの流行がみられるようになっています。

研究グループのメンバーで、群馬パース大学大学院の木村博一教授は「流行パターンの変化の背景には多くの人が免疫を持たない新たな変異ウイルスの拡大があるのではないか」と分析しています。
