PayPay、ついに海外利用に対応 韓国で9月下旬から 送金や為替確認も
PayPayは、9月下旬以降から「海外支払いモード」を追加し、まずは韓国からスタートする。Alipay+加盟店で、PayPayの決済ができるほか、個人間送金や残高チャージなどPayPayの主要機能を海外でも利用可能になる。

海外支払いモードは、日本人出国者数ランキング1位の韓国から開始。海外で決済した場合も日本国内と同様にPayPayポイントが付与される。
決済方法はお店側がPayPayのコードを読み取る「ストアスキャン方式」(バーコード/QR)と、ユーザーがお店のQRを読み取る「ユーザースキャン方式」の両方に対応。海外での支払いは日本円と現地通貨での残高を表示する。決済履歴や支払い方法の切り替え、利用可能額の設定などに対応する。また、為替レートもPayPayアプリで確認できる。為替手数料は3.5%(税抜)で、「国内で両替するよりは安いが、海外で両替するより少し高いぐらい」(PayPay 執行役員 金融事業統括本部 金融戦略本部長 柳瀬 将良氏)としている。
残高払いのほか、PayPayカード払いにも対応。海外においても銀行からの残高チャージが行なえる。なお、海外利用できるのは「本人確認済み(eKYC済み)」のユーザーのみ。詳細は追ってレポートする。
