サカイ引越センターとジモティーは、引越し現場で回収した不要品をジモティースポットでリユースする取り組みを開始した。第1弾として、千葉県柏市内の引越し現場で発生した不要品を「ジモティースポット柏豊四季店」でリユース販売している。対象は、サカイ引越センターが引越しで回収した不要品のうち、買取に至らなかったもののまだ使用できる品物。同取り組みは柏市の承諾のもと、5月29日のジモティースポット柏豊四季店の開業にあわせて開始し、約2カ月で引越し現場から回収した約1,700品、約2.5トンをリユースしている。環境省のデータによると、全国の自治体がごみ処理に投じた経費は年間約2兆4,489億円、国民1人あたりの処理単価は19,700円にのぼるという。特に引越し時には多くの不要品が発生するため、必要とする人につなげることがごみ減量につながる。ジモティーと柏市は、24年2月にリユースに関する協定を締結。ジモティーとサカイ引越センターも25年4月に業務提携し、循環型システムの構築に向けた共同事業を進めてきた。また、ジモティーは全国309自治体とリユースに関する協定を結んでおり、このうち41自治体でジモティースポットを運営している。25年には全国の拠点で累計約140万点がリユースされ、約4,300トンのごみ減量効果を生み出したという。今後、30年までにジモティースポットを329店舗へ拡大し、年間約8.4万トンのごみ削減を見込む。
