馬が波打ち際駆け抜ける「浜競馬」 鹿児島 いちき串木野の海岸
波打ち際を馬が駆け抜ける「浜競馬」が鹿児島県の海岸で行われ、大勢の見物客でにぎわいました。
鹿児島県いちき串木野市の「浜競馬」は、67年前に当時の荷馬車組合が花見の余興で始め、春の風物詩として定着しています。
27日、会場の海岸にはおよそ1万3000人が見物に訪れました。
大会には地元の人が所有する馬などおよそ60頭がそれぞれの部門で出走しました。
1歳の子どもを乗せたポニーが家族に手綱を引いてもらいながらゴールを目指したり、農耕馬がレースを嫌がったのか急に動かなくなったりして、大勢の観客をわかせていました。
一方、競走馬はおよそ1200メートルのコースを青空のもと、勢いよく駆け抜けていきました。
会場を訪れた70代の男性は「初めて来ました。小さい子どもが乗るポニーのレースがおもしろいです」と話していました。
家族で訪れた小学4年生の女の子は「大きい馬や速く走る馬がかっこよかったです」と話していました。
串木野浜競馬大会実行委員会の久木山睦男実行委員長は「浜競馬は地元の人たちに守られ続けています。今後も魅力の情報を発信していきたい」と話していました。
