OpenAI、「AIスーパーアプリ」目指す 大規模調達を完了
OpenAIは3月31日(米国時間)、1,220億ドル(約19.4兆円)の資金調達を完了したと発表した。Amazon、NVIDIA、ソフトバンクが主導し、Microsoftも引き続き参加するほか、大手の機関投資家や個人投資家からの調達も行なっている。
今後、コンピューティングへの投資を強化しながら、広範なインフラ投資を行なうほか、「AIスーパーアプリ」の構築を目指すとしている。
OpenAIでは、ChatGPTの週間アクティブユーザー数が9億人以上、有料会員数5,000万人以上となり、「コンシューマー向けAI分野で圧倒的なリーダー」と説明。ChatGPTの月間ウェブ訪問数とモバイルセッション数は、2位のAIアプリの「6倍」で、利用総時間は2位のアプリの4倍、その他すべてのアプリの合計の4倍とする。また、検索の利用は1年で3倍に増加し、広告のパイロットプログラムは6週間弱で、ARR(年間経常収益)が1億ドルを超えたという。
エンタープライズ領域も伸びており、収益の40%以上に拡大。2026年末までにはコンシューマー事業と同等の規模になる見込み。Codexの週間ユーザー数も200万人を超え、過去3カ月で5倍に増加し、利用率は前月比70%以上成長しているという。
こうした高い成長を加速、継続するほか、あらゆる領域でコンピューティングリソースが急拡大していることから、インフラ更新等に継続投資を行なう。
また、モデルの能力が高まるにつれ、制約要因は「知能」から「使いやすさ」へと移行していると説明。ChatGPT、Codex、ブラウジングなどに、広範なエージェント機能を統合し、エージェントファーストの体験を実現する「AIスーパーアプリ」を目指すとしている。
