レトロな天体望遠鏡で最後の観測会 半世紀以上親しまれる 香川
香川県丸亀市で半世紀以上にわたって親しまれてきた天体望遠鏡が、老朽化による施設の閉館に伴って撤去されることになり、10日、最後の観測会が行われました。
1974年に開館した丸亀市の生涯学習センターの屋上には、当時は珍しかった天体の自動追尾機能を備えた、口径15センチの屈折式の天体望遠鏡が設置されていて、半世紀以上にわたって市民に親しまれてきました。
望遠鏡は、施設が老朽化により今月末で閉館するのに伴って撤去されることになり、10日、最後の天体観測会が行われました。
観測会には親子連れなどおよそ140人が集まり、レトロな望遠鏡をのぞいて、月のクレーターなどを観察していました。
参加した小学5年生の女の子は「月の形がとてもきれいに見えて楽しかったです」と話していました。
月に1回、天体観測会を開いている「丸亀天文クラブ」代表の松野俊博さんは「さみしい思いもありますが、望遠鏡には感謝しかありません。天体観測は子どもから大人まで楽しめるので、施設はなくなっても天体観測会を続けていきたいです」と話していました。
この天体望遠鏡は来月、さぬき市の天体望遠鏡博物館に移され、その後、展示されるということです。
