簗農林水産大臣は、地元の道路に関する国からの予算の配分をみずからの意向で変更したなどと発言したと報じられ、2日、記者会見で、予算額について国土交通省に問い合わせ、自民党の支部の会合で報告したものの、配分を変更するよう働きかけた事実はないとした上で、「誤解を招くような部分は真摯に受け止める」などと述べました。

簗大臣は3日、熊本地震で被災した八代市などを訪れて復旧の状況を視察したあと記者団の取材に応じました。

この中で改めて予算配分をめぐる発言について問われたのに対して、「きょうは熊本地震で被災した皆様からお話を聞くということでうかがってきた。そういった心情面に配慮して私の個人としての政治活動に関わる発言は控えたい」と述べ、言及を避けました。
