宮崎 重さ100キロ近い餅運ぶ距離競う「大力餅運び」
重さ100キロ近い大きな餅を抱えて歩く距離を競う「大力餅運び」が今月2日、宮崎県国富町の神社で行われました。
「大力餅運び」は五穀豊じょうや無病息災を願う国富町の剣柄稲荷神社の大祭にあわせて80年ほど前から行われています。
ことしも「大人の部」と小学生以下の「子どもの部」に分かれて31人が参加しました。
大人の部では、直径60センチと50センチの紅白の餅を台座ごと持って境内を歩き、その距離を競います。
2つの餅は重さが100キロ近くあり、台座も含めるとおよそ120キロになるということで、日ざしが注ぐ中、参加者たちは額に汗を浮かべながら餅を抱え、最も長い人で36メートル運びました。
一方、「子どもの部」では重さおよそ30キロの餅が使われましたが、持ち上げられない子どももいて、見物に訪れた人からは「頑張れ」などと盛んな声援が送られていました。
最も長く運んだのは小学4年の一万田杏奈さんで、距離は165メートルでした。
一万田さんは「最初は軽かったけど、歩くたびに重くなっていきました。来年は今回の記録を超えたい」と話していました。
