大阪大学の図書館に顔認証ゲート 今後は授業の出欠管理も
大阪大学と紀伊國屋書店、パナソニック コネクトは、大阪大学の附属図書館全4館に顔認証技術を活用した入館ゲートと自動貸出返却装置を導入する。入館ゲートは5月から、自動貸出返却装置は秋から順次運用する予定。

紀伊國屋書店により、大阪大学附属図書館全4館(総合図書館、生命科学図書館、理工学図書館、外国学図書館)に対し、世界最高水準の認証精度を誇るというパナソニック コネクトの顔認証技術と連携した入館ゲート7台と、自動貸出返却装置6台が、新たに設置される。国立大学では初の取組みとしている。利用者は学生証や図書館カードを取り出すことなく図書館を利用できる。
また、2025年1月に提供を開始した「大阪大学デジタル学生証・教職員証」で表示されるQRコードに対応したQRリーダーが併設され、デジタル学生証の利用シーンの拡大も図る。
大阪大学は、学生・職員の生涯的なID活用を想定した統合ID基盤「OUIDシステム」を2024年に構築。このOUIDを使った顔認証入場管理システムで入退館できる建物や会議室を順次拡大している。今回、図書館に設置される顔認証ゲートや自動貸出返却装置がOUIDと連携することで、図書館職員の負担となっていた貸し出し管理業務の効率化を図る。
OUIDと顔認証技術の連携も今後さらに拡大する予定。各建物における入館管理などのほか、授業・試験の出欠管理など、学内でのさらなる利活用を目指すとしている。
