“10年に一度開花” ガイミアリリー 約40cmの花が咲く 名古屋
名古屋市の東山動植物園で、開花が10年に一度と言われている「ガイミアリリー」の花が咲き、見頃を迎えています。
ガイミアリリーは花を咲かせるのに5年から10年かかるオーストラリア原産の植物です。
東山動植物園には2020年にオーストラリアのシドニー市から11株が寄贈され、今月2日に初めて開花が確認されました。
現在2株が開花していて、高さ6メートルほどまで成長し、茎の先端には40センチほどの真っ赤な花を咲かせています。
訪れた人は写真を撮ったり花を見上げたりして楽しんでいました。
愛知県東郷町から来た小学5年生の男の子は「今まで見た花の中で、いちばん大きかった。赤できれいでした」と話していました。
愛知県あま市からきた家族4人は「10年後に、またみんなで見に来たい」と話していました。
東山動植物園の山本達樹さんは「次はいつ咲くか分からないので、ぜひ、いま見て楽しんでください」と話していました。
ガイミアリリーは1か月ほど花が咲き続けるということで、来月中旬ごろまで楽しめるということです。
