夏を前にアルパカの毛刈り 見た目もすっきりに 新潟 胎内
各地で気温が上がる中、動物とふれあえる新潟県胎内市の施設で、夏を前にアルパカの毛を刈る作業が行われました。
胎内市の樽ケ橋遊園では20種類およそ100匹の動物を飼育していて、毎年、夏を前にアルパカの熱中症対策として毛を刈っています。
14日は、オスのアルパカ3頭を刈る作業が行われ、1頭ずつ横たわらせてけがをしないように足を固定した上で、バリカンやハサミを使ってもこもこした毛を刈っていきました。
1頭1時間ほどかけて刈り終えると、見た目もすっきりとした姿となり気持ちよさそうな表情を見せていました。
樽ケ橋遊園の加藤誠園長は、「アルパカは熱中症になりやすい動物です。動物たちの体調管理をして暑い夏を乗り切りたいです」と話していました。
