2023年注目すべき電気自動車 DeLorean「Alpha5」
映画『バック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャー』のファンなら、これが40年以上ぶりの新型「デロリアン」であると知ったら腰を抜かすことだろう。Delorean Motor Company（デロリアン）の「Alpha5」は、そのイメージにふさわしくガソリンを使わない完全なEVであり、時速0マイルから60マイル（同約97km）まで3秒以内に加速可能だ。しかも、最高速度は時速155マイル（同約250km）という。
うれしいことに、「Alpha5」は銀幕のスターとなった先代モデル「DMC-12」からヒントを得たデザインになっている。ルーバー付きのリアウィンドウや、ガルウイングドアなどがその特徴だ。
一方で、ボディのデザインは「DMC-12」のような角張ったくさび型ではなく、滑らかなボディラインに変更されている。これによって空気抵抗を減らし、宣伝通りの航続距離300マイル（約483km）を達成できるようになった。
また、ハイエンドオーディオメーカーであるCambridge Audioの技術者たちが、車内で流す「パワー・オブ・ラヴ」の音質を最高のものにすべく開発に参加している。ラッキーな顧客への納車時期は23年に決まるという。
このクルマは時速0マイルから時速88マイル（同約142km）まで、たったの4.35秒で到達する。なんてこった！
