万博閉幕後の大屋根リング 海側の約350m残す案検討 大阪府・市
大阪・関西万博の閉幕後の大屋根リングの活用方法をめぐり、大阪府と大阪市が海側のリングをおよそ350メートル残す案を検討していることが関係者への取材でわかりました。
大屋根リングをめぐっては、万博の閉幕後、博覧会協会が1周およそ2キロの大屋根リングを解体し、土地をさら地にして大阪市に返還する契約を結んでいますが、大屋根リングを「万博のレガシー」として活用できないか、大阪府・市や経済界などを交えて協議が進められています。
こうした中、大阪府と大阪市が、会場の南側跡地のまちづくりが始まるまでのおよそ10年間、海側のリングをおよそ350メートル残す案を検討していることが関係者への取材でわかりました。
リングには自由にのぼれるようにするほか、隣接する区域は野外コンサートやドローンショーなどを行うイベント広場として整備するとしています。
また、維持費などについては、税金を使わずに万博の余剰金を活用したいとしていて、今後、関係者の間で検討するとしています。
大阪府の吉村知事はこれまで、海側のリングを600メートル残す案を提案していましたが、避難経路の確保などの観点から、350メートルが適切と判断したということです。
大阪府・市は、3日開かれる会議でこの案を提案することにしています。
