4月17日、ボルボは、新しい「S90」を発表した。

S90はボルボのフラッグシップセダンだ。一部改良によってエクステリアは、日本にも上陸した新しい「XC90」を彷彿とさせる灯火類などを採用。よりスタイリッシュとなった。

インテリアは、11.2インチのタッチスクリーンがアップデートし、応答性が向上。使い勝手と操作性が高まった。さらに遮音材を追加し、静粛性を高めたという。

搭載するパワートレインは、マイルドハイブリッドとプラグインハイブリッドを用意し、電動化を推し進める。いずれも直列4気筒ガソリンターボエンジンとの組み合わせだ。後者は満充電時の航続可能距離が伸びた。足まわりには、アダプティブサスペンションを全車標準装備とする。

新しいS90は、今夏、中国市場を皮切りに各国の市場へ投入予定。日本導入は未定だ。
