総務省が9月29日に公表した2025年国勢調査の確定値を基に、全国の市区町村の人口変化を紹介している。人口増加数ランキングに続き、今回は20年から25年にかけての人口増加率が高い街をランキングした。　対象は2020年時点の人口が1万人以上の市区町村。政令指定都市は市全体、東京23区は各区をそれぞれ集計した。 ■茨城県つくば市がトップ　人口増加率が最も高かったのは、茨城県つくば市だ。20年の24万1656人から25年には26万8832人となり、5年間で2万7176人増加した。増加率は11.25％と対象自治体のなかで唯一、1割を超えた。

　2位は東京都台東区で人口は1万6602人増え、増加率は7.85％だった。3位は千葉県流山市。19万9849人から21万5086人へ1万5237人増加し、増加率は7.62％となった。4位は千葉県印西市の7.53％増、5位は東京都中央区の7.48％増と続く。　人口増加数ランキングでは大阪市と福岡市が上位2市だったが、増加率ではつくば市が首位となった。人口規模の大きい自治体が上位に入りやすい増加数に対し、増加率からは元の人口に対する伸びの大きさがわかる。
