カウンターに並ばず手荷物手続「JAL SMART AIRPORT」 新たに11空港へ
JALは、カウンターに並ばず手荷物をセルフで預けられるなど、搭乗時の利便性を高める「JAL SMART AIRPORT」について、7月3日から新たに11空港を追加する。

追加される空港は青森/仙台/小松/広島/出雲/松山/長崎/宮崎/奄美大島/宮古/新石垣空港。既存の羽田/伊丹/新千歳/名古屋(中部)/福岡/大分/熊本/鹿児島/那覇を合わせ、合計20空港での運用となる。
2024年に名古屋(中部)空港等で導入された手荷物引換証発行機を導入。自動チェックイン機で発行した手荷物タグにバーコードリーダーを照射することで、手荷物預かりカウンターに並ぶことなく手荷物を預けられる。また、自動チェックイン機と手荷物引換証発行機について、利用者が搭乗手続きしやすい導線を考慮した配置とすることで、チェックインと手荷物預けの待ち時間を大幅に短縮する。
チェックインカウンターについてはデザインを刷新。各カウンターブースの上部にデジタルサイネージを設置し、手続きに関する情報を分かりやすく表示する。また、手助けが必要な人専用の「スペシャルアシスタンスカウンター」も設置している。
運用開始のスケジュールは下記の通り。
・7月3日：長崎/宮崎空港
・7月10日：青森/小松空港
・7月15日：松山空港
・7月18日：宮古/新石垣空港
・7月25日：出雲空港
・7月29日：仙台空港
・8月5日：広島空港
※奄美空港は7月下旬に展開予定
JAL SMART AIRPORTは、2020年12月から運用を開始。「JALタッチ＆ゴーサービス」を利用していれば、事前チェックイン不要で保安検査場へ直行できるほか、預ける荷物はセルフで手続可能でカウンターに並ぶ必要がない。手荷物検査ではPCやペットボトルは鞄に入れたまま通過でき、荷物検査の待ち時間を短縮できる。
