チーム GMOイエラエ、DEF CON 33 Cloud Village CTF で 3 年連続世界 1 位獲得
GMOサイバーセキュリティ byイエラエ株式会社は8月26日、同社に所属するホワイトハッカーチーム「GMOイエラエ」が「DEF CON 33」CTFにおける「Cloud Village CTF」で優勝し、3年連続で世界1位を獲得したと発表した。GMOインターネットグループの「GMO Flatt Security」、「Blue Water」も各部門で上位入賞を果たしている。
1993年から毎年アメリカで開催されている「DEF CON」は、エンジニア、研究者、政府関係者などのセキュリティ専門家が集まる国際的なセキュリティイベントで、サイバーセキュリティに関する情報交換、ハッキング技術の発表、CTFなどを通じて、世界的なセキュリティコミュニティの成長と交流に貢献している。
「DEF CON」のCTFには、予選を勝ち抜いてきたチームが出場する決勝戦「DEF CON CTF Finals」と、テーマに分かれたVillageで競う部門があり、GMOサイバーセキュリティ byイエラエに所属する脆弱性診断・研究チーム「GMOイエラエ」は「Cloud Village CTF」で世界1位となり、3連覇を達成している。
GMOイエラエの渡部裕氏は「昨年度とは異なりクラウド以外の問題も出題され、また他の参加チームもより強い意気込みを見せる中、各分野に強みを持つパートナーと協力した結果、全問正答した唯一のチームとなりました。」とコメントしている。
GMO Flatt Securityのセキュリティエンジニアによる選抜チーム「GMO Flatt Security」は、「AppSec Village CTF」で世界3位に、「Hardware Hacking Village CTF」で世界5位に入賞している。
GMO Flatt Securityの米内貴志氏は「AppSec VillageのCTFは、アプリへの攻撃能力と修正能力の両方が問われる競技であり、開発者向けのご支援を重視する弊社の実務と非常に近いものでした。Hardware Hacking Villageは、実機を扱う題材柄、現地でしか味わえない熱気を感じられる経験でした。これらの競技は共通して、「エンジニアの背中を預かる」をミッションにする我々の実力試しの場として、また実践を通し研鑽するための場として最適だったと感じます。」とコメントしている。
