6月13日、トヨタは、新型「クラウン・エステート」に、クラウン専門店「THE CROWN」専用の特別仕様車“THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL”を設定した。
新型クラウン・エステートに設定された“THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL”は、2.5Lプラグインハイブリッドシステムを搭載したRSグレードがベースだ。
エクステリアは、専用外鈑色「マットメタル」が目をひく。ボディ最表面にマット塗装の手入れを楽にする「特殊表面処理（TMコート）」を採用したのも特徴だ。匠の技術で薄膜かつ均一に仕上げ、マットの外観に影響を与えることなく、持久力のある防汚性・汚れ除去性を実現した。
マットメタルにあわせ、足まわりではマットブラック塗装を施した21インチアルミホイール（235/45R21タイヤ＆21×8½J アルミホイール＆センターオーナメント）を装備。
インテリアは、専用内装色ブラックラスター」を採用。加えて、専用のレーザー加飾（インストルメントパネル）や本革を使ったスポーツシート（レッドステッチ付）、ディンプル加工を施した本革シフトノブ（ピアノブラックオーナメント）なども特別装備した。
さらにデジタルキーも標準装備。専用アプリをインストールする事でスマートフォンを車両のキーとして使用可能となる。
