Windows 11、タスクバー位置変更など大幅刷新　Copilot入口は削減

Microsoftは20日(米国時間)、Windows 11に今後大きな変更を加えていくと発表した。「Our commitment to Windows quality(Windowsの品質についてのコミットメント)」としたブログにおいて、ユーザーからのフィードバックに応えながら修正を行なう方針を示したもので、3月から4月にかけて、Windows Insider向けのプレビューで、タスクバーの移動や、“不要”なCopilotの入口の削減などを予定している。 UI上の大きな変更は「タスクバー」について。タスクバーを画面の下部、上部、左側、右側などに変更できるようにし、ワークスペースのパーソナライズを強化する。 一方、統合を進めてきた「Copilot」については、Copilotボタンなどの「エントリーポイント」を削減する。「より意義のある場所」に集中し、統合する形で、一例としてSnipping Tool、Photos、Widgets、NotepadなどのアプリからCopilotのエントリーポイントを削除する。 Windows Updateについては、アップデートのスキップなど適用の柔軟性を向上する。 ファイルエクスプローラーも改善。まずは、起動の高速化、ちらつきの低減、スムーズなナビゲーション、信頼性の向上などを行なう。 ウィジェットはより控えめなデフォルト設定とし、表示タイミングや方法の制御を強化。また、「Discover」フィードのパーソナライゼーションを改善する。Windows Insider プログラムもよりわかりやすいものに改善していく。 全体的なパフォーマンス改善と信頼性の向上のほか、検索機能の強化やWindows Helloの生体認証の改善なども予定している。
