新型レクサスES登場 走行性能大幅向上で、期待大！

4月23日、レクサスは、新型「ES」を世界初公開した。新型ESは、マルチパスウェイを通じたカーボンニュートラルの実現に向けて、ハイブリッドとBEV（バッテリー式電気自動車）のパワートレーンを用意する。
新型ESの走りのコンセプトは「Pleasant time for all seats」。
ESの美点である優れた静粛性と乗り心地をさらに磨き上げるとともに、ハイブリッドとBEVそれぞれのパワートレーンの特性を活かし、レクサスらしい走りの深化を追求したという。
新型ESには、専用開発を施し刷新したTNGAプラットフォーム（GA-K）を使う。フロントエンド、フロア、リヤエンドの剛性を強化。徹底した体幹強化により、ボディの振動を抑制するとともに、クルマの大きさを感じさせない、ドライバーの意図に忠実で素直なステアリング応答性や加速・減速レスポンスを実現した。
足まわりには、フロントにマクファーソンストラット式サスペンションを、リヤには、路面への駆動力の確実な伝達とスムーズな車両姿勢変化の両立に寄与するマルチリンク式サスペンションをESとして初採用。サスペンションアームのブッシュ特性を改良し、より上質な乗り心地を実現したという。
また、「Dynamic Rear Steering（DRS）」を搭載し、車速に応じて後輪を前輪と逆相／同相に最大4度転舵させることで、低速域ではコーナリング時の優れた回頭性や取り回しの良さを、高速域では高い車両安定性を発揮する。
静粛性を高めるべく、高遮音タイプのドアガラスと、それを支えるシール部材の改良により、室外からのノイズの侵入を低減。また、吸音材／遮音材／制振材の分量や厚みをチューニングし、それぞれの部位に最適配置することで、より自然でバランスの取れた音響空間を提供する。
パワートレインのうち、ハイブリッドはES300hに2.0リッター直列4気筒ハイブリッドシステムをESとして初採用し、かつ2.5リッター直列4気筒ハイブリッドシステムも新システムにアップデートされた。
動力性能にさらに磨きをかけたES350hも新たにラインアップに加わった。新しい2.5リッターハイブリッドシステムは、パワーコントロールユニットとトランスアクスルを一体化した「eAxle」がパワーユニットの小型軽量化に寄与しているほか、バッテリーの高出力化を実現。2.5リッター直列4気筒エンジンとの組み合わせと専用の制御ロジックにより、優れた加速性能と低燃費を高次元で両立。加えて、パワーユニットの剛性強化により、パワーユニットに起因する振動を控え、静粛性にも寄与する。
BEVは、約685kmの航続可能距離を実現するFWDモデルのES350eと、AWDモデルのES500eを設定。BEV専用の大容量電池を床下に配置し、低重心化と安定した走行性能を実現した。ES500eは、路面や走行状態を問わず常に四輪駆動力を緻密に制御する「DIRECT4」を搭載する。DIRECT4は、車輪速センサー、加速度センサー、舵角センサーなどの情報を用いて、前輪:後輪=100:0～0:100の間で制御し、発進加速性、操縦安定性の向上、低電費に貢献する。
運転支援システムは、最新の「Lexus Safety System +」を搭載。レーダークルーズコントロール（全車速追従機能付）は、先行車減速シーンや、自車前方への割り込みシーンでの減速早期化により安心感を向上し、高速道路走行時の運転をより快適にします。さらに、エコランモードと、地図連携機能を新たに追加した。後者は、従来の減速支援に加え、一時停止などの道路標識、丁字路、ラウンドアバウト、料金所などに対する減速をサポートする。
レーンチェンジアシストは、起動操作や車線変更の速さを見直し、より簡単でスムーズな車線変更を支援。さらに、作動車速を拡大し、より幅広いシーンで支援を可能とした。さらに、ドライバー異常時対応システムは、従来の機能に加え、高速道路及び自動車専用道を走行中に動作した際に路肩に寄せて停車する機能を追加。パノラミックビューモニターは、レクサス初採用となる新開発の3Dビューにより、ドライバーの周辺確認をサポートする。
新型ESの日本発売は、2026年春頃を予定する。
