NTT「メタル回線」の固定電話サービス 2035年度ごろまでに終了
NTT東日本と西日本は、回線に銅線を使った固定電話のサービスを2035年度ごろまでに終了すると発表しました。契約数はおよそ1000万件に上るということで、今後、光回線などへの切り替えを呼びかけることにしています。
NTT東日本と西日本は29日に会見を開き、銅線を使った「メタル回線」と呼ばれる固定電話のサービスを2035年度ごろまでに終了すると発表しました。
利用者の減少や設備の老朽化が理由で、来年度以降、段階的に光回線や携帯電話用の回線などに切り替えていくということです。
両社によりますと、現在メタル回線の固定電話を使っている契約数はおよそ1000万件に上るということで、ダイレクトメールを通じて利用者に順次切り替えを呼びかけることにしています。
回線を切り替える工事は会社側が無料で行い、電話番号や電話機はそのまま使えます。
一方、メタル回線の利用者には、来年4月から設備の保守や維持の費用として、基本料金を「住宅用」は220円、会社などの「法人用」は330円、それぞれ値上げする方針です。
NTT「サービス終了に伴う詐欺の可能性も 注意喚起していく」
NTT東日本の城所征可取締役は「2035年ごろまでにサービスレベルの維持が困難になっている。顧客に安心してお使いいただける環境を維持していく。また、サービス終了に伴い便乗した詐欺などの被害の可能性もあるため、注意喚起をしていく」と話していました。
