トランプ大統領は21日、自身のSNSで、アメリカが輸入するジェネリック医薬品について、再来年の2028年8月から関税を100％に引き上げ、さらに、その1年後からは200％にすることを明らかにしました。

一方で、8月1日から関税を引き上げるまでの2年間は関税を課さないとしていて、投稿では「生産をアメリカ国内に『回帰』させるための措置で、製薬会社は、指定された期間に工場や施設を建設しなければ、罰則が科される」などとしています。

ジェネリック医薬品への関税をめぐって、有力紙「ウォール・ストリート・ジャーナル」は、政権内で1年以上議論されてきた課題で、影響を懸念する声も出ていたと伝えています。

ジェネリック医薬品はアメリカで処方される薬の90％を占めていて、関税によって、利用者の負担増加につながるおそれもあります。
